Handcrafted from ‘Montagnani’ demitasse pieces.
Montagnani spoons and cutlery are antique and vintage Italian items known for their ornate, figural designs. The Montagnani factory was founded by Giovani Montagnani in Italy in 1871 and closed in 1918 due to World War I.
These collectible spoons and serving sets were made from cast brass and were either silver-plated or gold-washed.
Before 1891: Spoons and other pieces were left unmarked.
After 1891: Spoons and flatware were typically stamped with "Italy". Some also have a mark that says "Italy 1000," which means they are silver-plated.
1918: The factory ceased operations due to World War I.
These beauties are dated C.1891-1918. And are ‘Gold washed.’ Leaving them with a very soft gold tone that will wear off over time, leaving a silver colour beneath.
They also make STUNNING pieces of heirloom jewellery too! 😍
