I’ve been dying to do a distressed/antique look set. And this vintage, German ‘Hildesheimer Rose’ spoon set, offered the perfect opportunity!

The challenge… To showcase an antique look without it looking uniform or forced. No harsh lines or sudden tone changes, and retain the very fine details.

The method… She’s been stone polished to bring up the gold tone nickel in some places. Then wire brushed on high speed to feather the edges and ‘grunge’ out the tone more. The tones/shadows also shift in the different light.

The more she ages, the more it will flake. Adding to the already gorgeous shabby chic vibe.

She’s very lightweight, so perfect if you like the lighter pieces.

She has VERY thin silver plate and has been priced to reflect this. Xx
